I once tried barbecue banana chips and it was a revelation of sorts. I’ve been looking all over for those packet of chips but never saw them again. When I stumbled on a plantain chips recipe online, I just knew I had to make my own version of savory banana chips. The dark chocolate was a trial of sorts and it didn’t disappoint. The toddler had one too many of the chocolate-coated chips. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
Green saba bananas
Oil for deep frying
Directions:
1. Slice the bananas thinly. My sister used a peeler. I went ahead and used a knife. A mandolin would’ve made this easier.
2. Heat oil before adding slices. Fry until golden.
3. Drain. Toss into seasoning tubs. Or coat with chocolate.

*you can sub with onion powder and sprinkle vinegar on the chips for a sour cream & onion variation.
